Grande Ronde Hospital

Grande Ronde Hospital, in La Grande, provides state-of-the art services and technology to address the needs of the County residents. Grande Ronde hospital is licensed for 49 acute care beds and is a Critical Access Hospital (CAH). Grande Ronde Hospital has over 500 employees and a professional staff of 54 representing 16 specialties and is growing. The Hospital offers the following to serve the needs of the community:

  • 24- Hour Emergency Department= level IV Trauma Center
  • ICU/ CCU (4 bed unit)
  • Medical/ Surgical Unit, including pediatric inpatient care
  • Transitional Care Unit (TCU)
  • Diagnostic Imaging Services
  • Family Birthing Center
  • Rehabilitation Therapy Services
  • 24- Hour Laboratory

South County Health District

South County Health District was formed by the voters in 2009. The District’s clinic is located in Union, Oregon and serves the communities of Union, Cove and North Powder. The mission of the District is to bring basic medical and health services to an underserved rural area. The District offers the following services and programs:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of common illnesses
  • Diagnostic tests (x-rays, EKG, lab tests)
  • Comprehensive women’s health care
  • Well child care
  • Minor procedures
  • Health care education
  • Vision and hearing tests
  • Dental services two days per week
  • St. Luke’s Idaho Cardiology Associates available on-site 1 day a month
